MBBS in KMC Manipal Medical College::

The MBBS course is being offered in KMC Manipal and KMC Mangalore. Its duration is four and a half years plus 1 year compulsory rotating internship course.
This course is recognised by the General Medical Council of Great Britain and the Malaysian Medical Council.
The course conducts theory classes and clinical training according to MCI guidelines.

Qualification : Pass in 10+2, A level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology taken together.

Note:
Candidate with foreign qualifications will have to obtain the ‘Equivalence Certificate’ from Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi who will equate their qualifications as equivalent to the 10+2 of India.  This certificate will have to be submitted at the time of admissions.  Students who are qualified with CBSE or ISCE or any other Indian Board qualifications need not submit the equivalence certificate.  For details please visit our website www.manipal.edu

M.B.B.S - 150 Seats

Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery: 4 1/2 years + 1 year internship
Eligibility for admission to M.B.B.S degree course

Qualification;-
Candidates seeking admission to the M.B.B.S., degree course should have a pass in the in HSC (Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination thereto with a minimum of 50% marks (40% marks for SC/OBC/MBC candidates) in aggregate in the subjects – English, Biology / Botany & Zoology, Physics and Chemistry. For students belonging to SC/ST, the maximum number of appearances (including first appearance) permitted to pass the qualifying examination is two and one for others.
Selection Procedure for Admission M.B.B.S., Course

The candidates of the U.T. of Puducherry are eligible for admission in the Government Colleges and in seats allotted through CENTAC under the government quota by our college.

Candidates from Other Stats & UTs are eligible for MBBS course to be filled based on All India NEET score/rank.
How to apply:

Submission of Application forms will only be through online means. The online application forms for admission and Information Bulletin and other details can be accessed from CENTAC website www.centaconline.in

The print-out of the duly filled-in online application signed by the applicant with all necessary enclosures, shall be sent by post/courier or can be submitted in person to “The Convenor”, CENTAC office, PEC Campus, Pillaichavady, Puducherry-605014 and a copy may be forwarded to our college.
Nationality

The applicant for admission should be a Resident Indian National and should have studied in schools located in India in the preceding two years except for those admitted against seats reserved for Non-Resident Indians.
Age Limit

Candidates should have completed a minimum of 17 years of age. The age will be reckoned as on 31st December of the current year. There is no upper age limit prescribed.
About the course

The duration of the course is four Years and six Months, followed by Compulsory Rotatory Internship of one year.
First year M.B.B.S., Course: (12 months)
Subjects Taught

Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry and Community Medicine. Students should pass all the First M.B.,B.S., Examination subjects before entering the Second year.
Second year M.B.B.S., Course (18 months)
Subjects Taught

Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Paediatrics and General Surgery.
Final year M.B.B.S., Course : (24 months)

Subjects Taught

General Medicine, Paediatrics, Tuberculosis and Chest Medicine, Psychiatry, Dermatology , Venereology and Leprosy, Community Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Ear, Nose and Throat, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Anaesthesiology and Radiology.
Compulsory Rotatory Internship (12 Months)

Every candidate, on passing the Final M.B.,B.S., examination, shall undergo twelve months of Compulsory Resident Rotatory Internship training, before he / she qualifies for full registration by the Tamil Nadu State Medical Council.
University Examination

A candidate will be allowed to appear for University examinations only if he / she obtain a minimum of 50% of marks in each subject in the internal assessment.
Attendance Rules

Regular and punctual attendance of lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, practical, clinics and class examinations is compulsory. Students who do not possess 80% of attendance and those whose progress and conduct are not considered satisfactory, as per university rules, will not be allowed to appear for the University examination.

As per the Order / Judgement of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India dated 09.05.2017 in W.P (s) (Civil) No.(s) 267/2017., all Deemed Universities of the country conducting UG Medical & Dental Courses are required to contribute all seats to All India Quota Online Common Counselling to be conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) / Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) / Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MOHFW), Government of India, New Delhi through MCC website.
