The Telangana State will be getting an additional 150 medical seats in the coming academic year itself with the Medical Council of India (MCI) granting permission to start the new Government Medical College and Teaching Hospital at Mahabubnagar.

According to the information given by Health Minister K. Laxma Reddy’s office here on Wednesday night, it would be the sixth medical college by the Government in the State and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao would be soon laying the foundation stone for the college.

Terming it the State Formation Day to people of Telangana, Mr. Reddy said it was possible only because of the untiring efforts made by the Chief Minister with the Central Government and the MCI to get the requisite permissions.

With this the total number of seats would increase to 1000 from the current 850 seats.

Government medical colleges are currently at Hyderabad – Gandhi and Osmania, Warangal’s Kakatiya, Adilabad and Nizamabad.

The new college coming up in the backward district of Mahabubnagar would give a fillip to medicare to people of the district as a super speciality hospital too would be coming up, the Minister said.

A few hundred jobs too would be generated in the medical, para-medical and other related fields on the account of the new medical college, he said.

 With the Telagnana state government approving two government medical colleges to be set up in Mahabubnagar and Hyderabad, the number of medical seats will rise from the present count of 2950 to 3800 from next academic year. This has given a new hope to lakhs of students who are aspiring to pursue a career in medicine in the state.

“The demand for medicine is very high in Telangana. With lakhs of students appearing from Eamcet, only few hundred among them qualify to bag admissions in to MBBS in government medical colleges. With new medical colleges, it has really given hope for the aspirants to pursue medicine,” said Dr. Bhasker, anesthesia specialists, at Rose Well hospital in Hyderabad. 

According to sources in the health ministry, as many as 850 medical seats are going to be increased both in private and government medical colleges. Of which government medical college in Mahabubnagar will constitute 150 MBBS seats while the upcoming government medical college at Erragadda in Hyderabad will have 100 MBBS seats to the total count. The remaining 600 seats will be added to various private medical colleges existing in the state.

The 600 new medical seats will be allocated to 6 private medical colleges. While all the seats in government colleges will be offered under merit quota, in the private colleges, 50 per cent seats will be available under merit quota, 35 per cent under management quota and 15 under NRI quota.

With the steep rise in medical seats, the aspirants of MBBS are quite happy and eagerly waiting for the next academic year to begin. “After bifurcation, Telangana state was left with only a few medical seats, while the major chunk of Medical colleges remained with Andhra Pradesh, the demand for medical seats in TS grew many folds. However, the state government’s initiatives have given us a hope for aspirants like me to become doctors,” said Priyanka, a Biology students aspiring for higher education in Medicine.

Among the 6 private colleges, Ayaan Institute of Medical Sciences at Moinabad in Ranga Reddy district will get 150 seats, Mahavir Institute of Medical Science at Vikara-bad will get 150 MBBS seats, TRR Institute of Medical Sciences and Maheshwara Medical College at Patancheru had been approved with 150 medical seats each.

In Medak district, the RVM Institute of Medical Sciences at Mulugu and Surabhi Institute of Medical Sciences at Siddipet have been approved 150 MBBs seats each in the district. Currently Telangana state has five medical colleges running under government with an intake of 850 MBBS seats. With the addition of 250 more the count will raise to 1100 MBBS seats in government sector. There are 15 private medical colleges with an overall intake of 2,100 seats but now with the enhancement of 600 more seats, the count in private colleges will rise to 2700 seats.
Telangana Government with GO 95 on 17 November 2015 have issued Essentiality Certificate for establishment of a new Government Medical College at Yedira(Village) ,Mahabubnagar (Mandal & Dist).

Director of Medical Education, Hyderabad has furnished the project report for the establishment of new Government Medical College at Yedira (V), Mahabubnagar (Mandal & Dist) with an estimated cost of Rs.450.00crores. The project consists of Civil works, Equipment and Furniture and requested to issue necessary orders in the matter.

3. After careful examination of the proposal, Government hereby accord Administrative sanction for an amount of Rs.450.00 crores (Four Hundred and fixty Crores only) for construction of new Government Medical College at Yedira (Village), Mahabubnagar (Mandal& Dist)

4. The Director of Medical Education, T.S., Hyderabad/ Managing Director, Telangana State Medical Services Infrastructure Development Corporation, Hyderabad shall take further action in the matter accordingly.

5. The expenditure sanctioned in para 3 above shall be debited to the following Head of Account:-

Candidates are informed to read the following carefully:
1. More number of candidates than required are called for counselling and therefore this call does not guarantee admission into courses to all those who have been called for.
2. Open Competition means candidates belonging to OC, BC, SC and ST categories including Non-Farmer and Farmer.
3. On 03-10-2016 to 05-10-2016, the seats under Open Competition only will be filled up on the scheduled days (from 3rd to 5th October, 2016nly) irrespective of categories to which the candidates belong to.
4. Those candidates under reserved categories, who do not secure seat under OC category will have to attend counselling again on respective scheduled dates.
5. The seats reserved for belonging to BC, SC, ST categories including Non-Farmer and Farmer will be filled up on the scheduled dates only.
6. For the Un-Reserved (Non-Local 15%) quota, any candidate from OU, AU and SVU region with Telangana State EAMCET-I 2016 rank can compete on merit basis.
7. In the event of establishment of new colleges, such seats in those colleges will also be considered.
8. The government of Telangana has accorded permission for the establishment of new agriculture college at Warangal with an intake of 60; hence, the intake in B.Sc.(Hons.) Agriculture is 372.
9. The rule of reservation will be followed strictly as specified by the Government of Telangana.
10.The candidates should report at the counselling center one hour before the scheduled time. The candidates are required to produce all the relevant original certificates at the time of counselling and the selected candidates have to pay the requisite fee immediately (Rs. 22,010/- for PJTSAU, Rs. 27,622/- for PVNRTVU & Rs.26,390/- (Rs.63,090/- for payment seats) for SKLTSHU) on the counselling day itself at the respective college counters, failing which the seat will be forfeited.
11.Hostel facility for selected candidates at respective colleges will be provided subject to availability.
12.Selection of candidates under SC, ST and BC quota is subject to clearance of the respective social status by the concerned Directorates of Government of Telangana State. The provisional selection under BC-E category is subject to the final adjudication by the Hon'ble High Court of Andhra Pradesh in W.P. No. 15267 of 2007).
13.The counselling for qualified candidates in Telangana AGRICET-2016 for admission into B.Sc.(Hons.) Agriculture will be conducted on 15-10-2016. The list of the Ranks (Telangana AGRICET-2016) called for the counselling in respect of Diploma in Agriculture and Seed Technology will be placed in University website www.pjtsau.ac.in.
14.This notification shall be treated as individual intimation and no separate intimation will be sent to the candidates.
15.The Counselling will be conducted on all the days as notified above including public holidays and even in the event of any day being declared a holiday by the government.
16.There is no option for sliding. In the event a seat falls vacant due to non-joining / cancellation of seats, it shall subsequently be filled up again only through open individual counselling.
17.Only one parent / guardian per student will be allowed at the counselling center
18.Counselling for admission into various U.G. Courses of PJTSAU, PVNRTVU & SKLTSHU under NCC, Sports, CAP (Defence) and P.H. quota will be held separately and the necessary information will be given separately and the same will be placed in the University website www.pjtsau.ac.in.

Verification of certificates for Web based Counseling

INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES

1 Candidates are required to be present on the notified date and time at the helpline centre with all the relevant  original certificates and fee. Custodian certificates will not be permitted.

2 Candidates are requested to note that this is the first and final phase of verification of certificates. No further phases of   verification of certificates will be done. The candidates  who  got  their  original certificates verified only can exercise web  options  in  the subsequent phase if any.

3 Candidates are called for registration rank wise. The candidates are required to sign in the register and pay the processing fee and proceed for verification of certificates. Candidates belonging to SC / ST

category have to  pay  Rs. 1000/-and all others have to pay Rs.2000/- towards processing fee which is non-refundable.

4 The  candidates  belong  to  BC/SC/ST  Categories  are  required  to  submit  integrated  Community certificate duly signed by Mandal Revenue Officer [MRO]/ Tahsildar / RDO Candidates are informed to submit self attested copies of Aadhar of Candidate and Father and also Ration Card.

5 Tuition fee reimbursement will be as per the rules of Government.

6 The  candidates  shall  produce  Original  certificates  as  notified  at  the  time  of  certificate  verification  and bring   two (2) sets of Xerox copies of certificates for submission

7 The  verification  officer  will  verify  the  genuinity  of  the  certificates  produced  and  collect  the self  attested Xerox copies of  certificates(two sets).

8 Every candidate shall furnish a mobile number at the time of Verification.It should be unique. One Time Password will be communicated to this mobile number. Request for change of mobile number will not be entertained under any circumstances.

9 After verification, the candidate shall collect the Original  Certificates from the counter.

10 Candidates  need  to  verify  the  mobile  number,  Aadhaar  ,  caste  category,  local  area,  gender,  minority,parental       income, special category, date of birth and details of other examinations printed on receipt of certificates. Any discrepancy should be brought to the notice of Camp Officer / Co-ordinator immediately for corrections. Seat allotment     process depends on the accuracy of the above data. Candidates are also jointly responsible for ensuring the correctness of the data.

11 Candidate can give options on the web either from helpline centre / home / any other place having internet facility.One Time Password will be sent to the registered mobile at the time of saving

web options.Hence candidates are advised to exercise options after certificate verification as per the scheduleon 20th and 21st, September, 2016. The password consists of SIX letter code with English capitals A to Z.     REGISTRAR

13 On  the  notified  date,  the  web  options  are  processed  and  allotment  is  communicated  to  the  candidate through SMS.

14 Candidate can download the provisional allotment order on payment of University fee of Rs. 10,000/-for MBBS and BDS courses through payment   gateway   and report at the Allotted college.

15 For  exercising  options,  the  list  of  all  colleges  and seats  available  in  each  college  will  be  displayed  in the   Website.

16 Candidates are instructed to be careful while exercising options on the web and take the print out of the Saved options.

18 Refer Procedure to exercise web options for instructions to the candidates for exercising options on web

19 Candidates are informed to check their final allotment, take printout of allotment letter from the web,  and report to the respective colleges on or before the date furnished on the allotment letter, failing which  the candidate will lose the admission.

20 Next round of counseling (for exercising  options) for left over seats in phase-I and not reported seats and new seats sanctioned, if any, will be conducted.

21 There is no further verification of Certificates for admission into MBBS/BDS courses for the academic year 2016-17.

22 Who   Should   participate Web - options in   Phase–II   and   subsequent   phases?   Candidates   whose certificates  are  verified  between 17.09.2016  to 20.09.2016 and  Special  Categories from 17-09-2016  to 19-09-2016 at JNTUH Kukatpally, Hyderabad are only eligible.

a)  Who  secured a  seat  in  earlier  phase  of  web  based  counseling  and  wish  to  move  to  some  other college.

b) Candidates who participated in earlier phase of Web based counseling and could not secure a seat.

c) Candidates who did not participate in earlier phase even though he/she is eligible to exercise options.

d) Candidates who were allotted a seat in first Phase , but didn’t report at allotted college.

e) Candidate allotted a seat in earlier phase but cancelled his/her admission.

23 The candidates may note that

a) Options Exercised for one phase will not be considered for next phase of Counseling.

b) Candidates have to exercise options  afresh for each phase of Web based Counseling

c) In case candidate is satisfied with the previous allotment, options need not be exercised again for next phase.

d) Options may be exercised for those colleges even if the vacancies are not available, as vacancies may arise due to sliding, cancellation and conversions.

24  If the candidate opts and secures a seat in subsequent phase , his / her allotment of seat in previous phase is cancelled automatically. He/She has to report to the new college by downloading the allotment letter on or before the date furnished in the allotment letter. Failing to report within the date furnished in the allotted college, the candidate will forfeit the claim on the new college seat as well as on the old College seat.
