Government medical College,Nagpur.is the premire institute of Central India.The College was established in 1947 Ad and was inaugurated by the first president of India Dr. Rajendra Prasad The Campus is stretched over an area of 196 acres.

Nagpur City has the history of 300 years plus when it was the capital of  Gond Rajas Buland Shah Baksh.  Nagpur was one of the major centre with capital even  during British regime.  The present Mayo Hospital came into existence in 1862 and was known as “City Hospital”.  A medical school was started in 1914 in that hospital and was under Nagpur Education Board.  It was named after Mr.Robertson the then Joint Commissioner of Central Province.  School was conducting L.M.P. Diploma Course.  At that time there was no Medical College for higher studies and the students of Nagpur had to go out for Medical Education. Nagpur became the important centre for education by establishing Nagpur University in 1923.  C.P.Berar Government had made arrangement for higher medical education at G.S.(KEM) Medical College, Mumbai and Nil Ratan Sorcar Medical College, Calcutta.  This facility was available only for 10-12 students every year and many students could not make it.  Hence there was constant demand for independent Medical College in this region.

The first batch was admitted in July 1947.  The students were admitted from Nagpur as well as from Sagar University.  The selection criteria was merit in inter science grade and an interview.  With the starting of Medical College, threats was looming for closing down the LMP Course, the students of 1946 batch demonstrated on the road for 7 to 8 months under the leadership of Dr.Dubey, Dr.Tiwari and Dr.Rangilal.  Shri Ravi Shankar Shukla the then Chief Minister was convinced about the problem and the whole batch was transferred to GMC in 1947.

This batch was allowed to appear 6 months earlier to those who were admitted in 1947 directly to GMC.  Out of them only seven students passed in the final examination and they became the first medical graduates of this institute.

An entrance examination was started in 1952, and very next year, it was abandoned.  The degree course was of five years without an internship.  It was divided in two years in Anatomy and Physiology, two years in Pathology, Pharmacology and Forensic Medicine, while the final year had medicine, Surgery, Opthalmology and gynaecology.
The college got MCI recognisition in 1952.  The internship was started from 1953 batch and it was 9 months in District Hospital and 9 months in village dispensaries.

The Hospital Atthached to this institution has 1401 bed with updated facilities. beside Medical College and Hospital and Superspeciality Hospital,The Campus incorporates Dental College,Physiotherapy,Occupational Therapy and Nursing Schools.

NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) 2019.
NEET (UG) - 2019, will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA)
for admission to MBBS/BDS Coursesin 2019 2020 academic year,
in Indian Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament ie. AIIMS - JIPMER.

The NEET (UG) - 2019 will be conducted on Sunday, 5th May, 2019. The responsibility of the NTA is limited to the conduct of the entrance examination, declaration of result and for providing an “All India Rank merit list” to the Directorate General Health Service, Government of India for the conduct of counselling for 15% All India Quota Seats and for supplying the result to States/other Counselling Authorities.

NEET MDS 2019 Dental PG ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR NEET- MDS 2019;-

(A)  The eligibility criteria for Admission to MDS courses as per MDS Course Regulations 2017 notified by Dental Council of India with prior approval of MoHFW is as follows:-
A candidate for admission to the Master in Dental Surgery course, must possess a recognised degree of Bachelor in Dental Surgery awarded by a university or institute    in India and registered with the State Dental Council and has obtained provisional or permanent registration and has undergone compulsory rotatory internship of a year in an approved/ recognised dental college.
A candidate who after passing the final qualifying examination (BDS or the     foreign dental degree recognized by GOI/DCI), is undergoing 12-month compulsory rotatory internship/ practical training and is likely to complete the same by 31st March 2019 can take up this examination, but he/she shall not be eligible for admission unless    he/she has completed the compulsory rotatory internship and obtained provisional or permanent registration on or before 31st    March 2019 or the candidate produces a certificate from the head of Institution that he/she will be completing internship by    31st March 2019.

NEET MDS 2019 Dental PG ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ALL INDIA 50% QUOTA SEATS

The eligibility criteria for All India 50% quota seats is as per para 4.1 & 4.2 (vide supra).    Candidates who have studied/passed BDS from the    state of Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for 50% All India Quota seats.   
However,    the candidates who were nominated by the Government of India (under central pool seats) to do BDS from Dental Colleges in Jammu & Kashmir shall be eligible to apply for admission. Such candidates must submit a duly signed affidavit declaring that he/she was nominated by the Government of India (under central pool seats) to do BDS from Dental Colleges in Jammu & Kashmir to the following address along with the print out of the acknowledgement of submission of online application for NEET-MDS 2019 latest by30th November 2018.

Note: Possession/Use of Mobile Phones/Electronic Devices is strictly prohibited in the premises of NBE Examination Centre. Candidates shall be liable for penal action for Possession/Use of Mobile Phone/Electronic Devices

 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS IN NEET-MDS 2019.
 As per MDS course Regulations 2017:-
It is not mandatory for foreign nationals to have temporary registration with DCI at the time of writing NEET-MDS.
Foreign Nationals can write NEET-MDS without DCI registration.
Provided that in the case of a foreign national, the following procedure shall be followed:
The Council may, on payment of the prescribed fee for registration, grant    temporary    registration for the duration of the post-graduate training restricted to the dental    college/institution to which he or she is admitted for the time being exclusively for post-graduate studies:-
Provided further that    temporary    registrationto such foreign national shall be subject to the condition that such person    is duly registered as    medical practitionerin    his/her own country from which he/she has obtained    his/her basics dental qualification and that    his/her degree is recognized by the corresponding state dental council or concerned authority.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR NRI IN NEET-MDS 2019.
The definitions of NRIs, OCI and PIOs shall be in accordance with order of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India dated 22/08/2017    in WP No.    689/2017.        Copy of Order is at Annexure    III.
The dates indicated by candidates with regard to 12 months Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship
i.e. starting date, completion date, shall be treated as final and candidates    will be required tosubmit the original Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship completion certificate at the time of counseling. No condonation of internship of 12 months period shall be accepted except
(i) the students of the batch admitted during academic session    2007-08 and have completed 4 ½ year BDS course    alongwith    06 months compulsory rotating    internship and
(ii) the students admitted during    the academic session 2006-07 at Rajah Muthiah Dental College, Annamalai University those have completed 05 years BDS course without internship.
Candidates found to be ineligible at any stage of NEET-MDS 2019 will not be permitted to appear in the examination and/or counseling.In an unlikely event of any ineligible candidate appearing and/or being successful in the NEET-MDS 2019, the results/ candidature of such candidate shall be    cancelled    and/or    are deemed to be cancelled.

EXAMINATION FEE:-

• Amount NEET- MDS Exam fee Rs. 2750/- (For SC/ST/PWD (PH) candidates) RRs. 3750/-  (For General/OBC candidates)

NEET MDS 2019 Exam Pattern;- shall be held on a single day & single session only.
Allocation    of time for the NEET- MDS shall be as follows:-

• Activities Session (2:00 PM to 5:00 PM)
• Allow Candidates to enter the examination centre and commence Biometric Registration 12:00    PM
• Entry closes at Examination Centre 01:30 pm   
• Grant access for Candidate Login 01:45 pm
• Candidates log in to read instructions 01:50  pm
• Exam StartTime 02:00 PM 
• Exam End Time 05:00 PM

NEET MDS 2019 Dental PG Syllabus:-

• The syllabus for the exam shall be that of BDS standard and shall cover all    the subjects/syllabus    taught during the BDS course as prescribed in the DCI Revised BDS Course Regulations, 2007 as amended from time to time
• The examination shall be a multiple choice questions test delivered using    computers network(CBT) as per scheme prescribed.
• The exam    comprises of 240 Multiple Choices, single correct response questions in    English language only.
• Time allotted 3 hrs.

Negative Marking:-
There shall be 25% negative marking for incorrect answers. No    marks will be deducted for unattempted questions Allocation of Marks for each MCQ: S.No. Response Marks
1. Correct Response 4 marks
2. Incorrect Response 1 mark shall be deducted
3. Unattempted Question Zero

During the examination candidates are given an option to mark any question, whether attempted or not, for review which means that candidate has been given an option to go through these questions again before the examination time ends.
Candidates may note that such questions which are marked for review shall be evaluated as per the marking scheme indicated above.


NEET MDS 2019 Dental PG ADMIT CARD & TEST;-

• The examination shall be conducted on 14th December 2018.
• It will be a single day exam conducted in a single session
• At the time of online submission of application form, candidate will be required to choose the city in which    he/she wants to take    the test.
• The choice of city will depend on availability of the test centres in a particular city and the allotment shall be done on first come first serve basis.
• During the    submission of online    application form, candidate will be able to see only those cities where testing seats are available.
• While the city will be chosen by the candidate himself/herself at the time of online submission of application form, allotment of test centre/venue in he    chosen city shall be done by NBE.

In case testing seat is not available in the State in which you prefer to appear in NEET-MDS 2019,
you can choose the option OTHERS from    the list of States at the time of selection of the State during online submission of application form.
NBE will make all efforts to ensure that the candidate is allotted a testing centre in the State of correspondence address of the candidate.
In case testing seat is not available in the concerned State due to logistic, administrative and other reasons, testing centre in a nearby State shall be allocated. Such candidates shall be informed about their testing city by 21st November 2018.
